Mission
Statement and Goals
We are a parish-based community of Catholic young adults, aged
21 to 39, who are united in our commitment to Jesus Christ, His
Church, and a way of life based on the teachings of the Gospel. We
entrust ourselves to Mary, Our Mother, as we understand the role she
has in the salvation of the world. We journey together in search of
personal identity, relationships, significance in work, and
spiritual life. Connected by our Christian faith, we have chosen to
answer Christ’s call to holiness, community, and service.
The Call to Holiness
As members of the Roman Catholic Church, we remain faithful to
the Holy Father and the Church’s teachings. The path towards
holiness entails active participation in the Eucharist and in the
sacramental life of the Church. We strive to grow in our
relationship with Christ through prayer, faith-sharing and spiritual
formation.
The Call to Community
Through social interaction with peers who share similar values
and beliefs, we nurture and strengthen our own faith while creating
a strong community of support. Within this community, we are able to
develop our potential and our personal identities, foster our
talents, and build relationships.
The Call to Service
We strive to actively participate in the life and mission of the
Church. Called to be disciples of Christ’s living faith, we serve
the needs of this young adult group, the St. John Neumann parish
community, the Catholic Church, and our local community.
It is our goal to connect young adults with 1) Jesus Christ, 2) the
Church, 3) the mission of the Church in the world, and 4) the peer
community as stated in the Pastoral Plan for Ministry with Young
Adults by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.
It is our desire that the active participation of our young adults
in the life of the Church will strengthen and enrich our parish.
